Hey I’m Constance, and a new reviewer here at Faerie Drink. Its pretty fun actually, I mean I got to interview and review for a fave author of mine and writing like this is kind of fun. Gives me a chance to hone my skills. I don’t usually like to write but since this is “free” so to speak its a lot easier for me to make myself do unlike schoolwork. Um…other facts about me are that I love fashion design and drawing and though some people consider me really good at it I don’t. I also love history with the exception of American and as you all know I’ve got a thing for dark literature.
I got into Holly Black in I think fifth or sixth grade. I was on this HUGE faerie kick and my mom saw the cover of Tithe and thought it was perfect for me. At first I was like eh… but since i didnt have much to do when she gave it to me decided to flip a little. And that is how I was hooked. I don’t think i could get Roiben or Kaye out of my head for months, it was completely addictive. And imagine my ectasy when a few years later, out of the blue, out pops Valiant.
Nowadays I’ve reverted to my first love Vamps. I say reverted because at the age of four upon seeing Buffy vampires became my world. Books, movies, you name it. Now esp. books. Its really where all the action is right now(think Twilight, Tantalize, Vamp. Kisses). Just because I indulge in that however doesn’t mean I dont read serious stuff every now and then. In fact I just finished Cyrano de Bergerac a while back and am now on The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and Dante’s Inferno. As for the importance of reading (yes Devyn asked me to talk about it) I think its a big deal just because of the tidbits of info you can get out of any book, good or bad. There will always be a new word in there somewhere or an interesting piece about the past you didn’t know existed. Even current up to date stuff that you really wanna check out.
Well have fun exploring the site and be sure to check out the two new reviews and one new interview we’ve just posted. I’m sure it wont disapoint!

I am going to take the honor to write up the first staff blog ever.

Thank you for taking time to visit our website, Faeire Drink would not be here if it were not for the wonderful works of Holly Black. She is the true hero of this website and for many people. Holly’s books keep you wanting more–they are very sophisticated-Which many YA books lack these days.

I would like to share how Holly Black–and books in general have helped me in my life; As I do–I encourage any staff members or visitors of the site to share there story’s as well (in the comments).

As many people may know, I have Lupus (SLE). I always have a book with me when I go to the hospital–Originally I started reading the Harry Potter series-and others. When I came across the Spiderwick Chronicles–I knew I needed to add Holly Black to my top list.

When I finally came across Tithe I knew she belonged to my top list–the way her plots are wound keeping you reading into the night–amazing. Its always nice to know you have a great book with great descriptions so you can escape from the doctors, needles, nurses, cat scans–and feel normal for the time being.

Books help us in so many ways–some people are helped the most by one thing or many–Such as music, games, art work… We all have an area were for a split second we can forget whatever Is nagging at our mind and be free.

I hope you enjoy Faerie Drink as much as we enjoy working on it!!
